Panasonic to bring two 3D TVs by end of August

3D technology is here and it is here to stay. The prices might be high but they are expected to come down soon and when that happens, 3D will be ubiquitous because the video quality is really good. Panasonic is the latest manufacturer to join the bandwagon. They have made a couple of 3D TVs for the gamers, in the 3D GT25 range. It will have to two panels – 42 inch TC-P42G25 and 50 inch TC-P50GT25. We are more interested in the 42 inch TV since it is the first 3D panel from this manufacturer for the 42 inch size. And you will need the 3D glasses to view the 3D content on the panels. We don’t know whether Panasonic is giving the glasses along with the TV or not.

Panasonic 3D TVs

Regarding the specs, these two panels boast of 2D to 3D conversion. But don’t start drooling on this, because we have tested a few panels which have this conversion capability and the quality hasn’t lived up to our expectations. Still, it is a crime to expect a TV to convert true 3D pictures from a 2D video. Apart from that, this TV has 1080p resolution so you can view full HD videos on it in all their glory. It also has a 600 Hz sub field drive and also a 24p playback capability. If you are impressed by this, let us tell you that Sony and Samsung has already achieved this in the past. These panels will be available in the market from the end of this month. The price of the 42 incher is $1,699.95 where as the bigger sibling will put you back by $2,099.95. These TVs will also have VIERA Link which lets Panasonic owners control the VIERA Link compatible video and audio products through a single remote.
