Samsung 24-inch SyncMaster FX2490HD is a computer monitor with built in TV tuner card

Samsung is a really big name in the panel market. They make really good LCD TVs, plasma TVs and computer monitors. But this latest offering from the manufacturer will certainly bowl over even their ardent fans. Samsung’s 24-inch SyncMaster FX2490HD is a computer monitor which comes with a TV tuner card built in. You can use it to watch TV and also a computer display. This product belongs to the new premium LED backlit 90 series from this manufacturer.

Samsung 24-inch SyncMaster FX2490HD is a 24 inch computer monitor and some might say that it is small for watching television. Good TVs start from 42 inches and over but then the FX2490HD is not meant to be used as a primary TV. The price is also really low so the small size doesn’t really matter much. The panel has two HDMI ports, along with D-Sub. There is also SCART for European users. But our sources say that this display will not have a DVI or DisplayPort. We are hoping that the manufacturer gives a HDMI to DVI connector with the panel since you don’t normally use HDMI port for computer connections. DVI ports are more popular.

Samsung 24-inch SyncMaster FX2490HD

Samsung 24-inch SyncMaster FX2490HD has a resolution of 1,920×1,080 pixels which is full HD. This resolution is often found across all panels of this size so there is nothing unique about it. Resolution aside, the panel is a 250 nits of brightness, 5 ms response time, and 1000:1 contrast ratio. There is also a USB drive for plugging in a thumb drive for watching the data on the screen. We hope all major formats like MP3 and JPEG are supported. Samsung has put a $450 price tag on it. We will do a full review of the product when we get it in our labs for testing.
