Samsung says 3D TV without the glasses will take time
Samsung announced recently that they are working on 3D TVs that work without the glasses and this news spread like wildfire over the Internet. But the manufacturer said that these TVs are still in the process of development and they won’t be coming out any time soon. Toshiba, a rival company, is also working on this technology and it said that these TVs won’t be coming out at least for the next few years.
Samsung said that they have developed the 3D TVs but the resolution is quite low and hence the picture quality is poor. Another big hurdle is that you have to sit really still while watching the videos. If you move the picture will look distorted. Right now, 3D TVs need glasses and some people are not comfortable wearing them. You also have to pay extra for the 3D glasses which add to the cost. We really hope the new 3D TVs will come out soon and will be cheaper.

Samsung is putting in a lot of money for researching on 3D technology. They have already come up with some great 3D TVs and 3D Blu-ray players. Samsung held an event on Tuesday for promoting the development of apps for the company’s latest line up of consumer electronics. They include 3D TV sets. Samsung is offering a reward of half million dollars for developers/teams who built engaging and well-conceived applications.
The contest is mainly centered on TVs but the company also wants to bring this technology to mobile devices. It will be really cool if you can watch the 3D content on TV without the glasses and on mobile phones too. You can start watching a movie on a TV when you are at home and then continue it on your mobile phone if you have to travel. Samsung is also looking to stream 3D content to the TVs through Internet.
